The International Computing Centre (ICC) was established in 1971 by a Memorandum of Agreement among the United Nations (UN), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Health Organization (WHO), pursuant to resolution 2741 (XXV) of the United Nations General Assembly. It was created as an inter-organization facility to provide electronic data processing services for themselves and other Users.

 

The management structure of the ICC comprises of a Management Committee and a Secretariat.

The Management Committee
The operations of the ICC are governed by a Management Committee, comprised of one representative from each Partner Organization. The Committee may agree to allow Users and persons other than Members to attend Management Committee meetings as observers. The Director, of ICC is an ex-officio member of the Committee without the right to vote.

Secretariat of the ICC
The Secretariat is the operating organ and has a Director, who is the chief executive officer of the ICC, and a number of staff as may be required and approved within its programme budget.

The organizational structure of ICC has evolved over time to create a flexible framework for the adoption of the latest proven technologies and for the delivery of quality services.

This structure allows the Centre to:
