HLCM: Report of the 23rd Session of the Inter-agency Security Management Network Meeting 10.08.2016

The 23rd Session of the Inter-Agency Security Management Network (IASMN) was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, from 2 to 4 February 2016. 54 United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) members participated in the session. Representatives from the Office of the Legal Adviser (OLA), the UN Medical Directors Working Group, and the Secretariat of the Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) and the three staff associations were also present at this meeting, as observers.

The 22nd Session of the Inter-Agency Security Management Network (IASMN) was held at the Eurotel in Montreux, Switzerland from 23 to 25 June 2015. Thirty-seven (37) United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) members participated in the session, with eight (8) other entities participating as observers. HLCM: Report of the 21st Session of the Inter-agency Security Management Network Meeting 10.08.2016

The Inter-Agency Security Management Network (IASMN) held its 21st session at the Asian Development Bank Headquarters in Manila, Philippines from 3 to 5 February 2015. Twenty-eight United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) members participated in the session, along with two observers. UNDG: Report of UNDG meeting (February 2016, New York) 10.08.2016

The UNDG Chair, Ms. Helen Clark, opened the first UNDG meeting of the year by introducing Mr. Amir Abdulla, Deputy Executive Director of WFP, in his new role as UNDG Vice-Chair as of 1 February 2016. The UNDG Chair noted that in his dual capacity as UNDG Vice-Chair and Co-Chair of the UNDG Sustainable Development Working Group, Mr. Abdulla would help ensure that the UNDG further advances the integration agenda and working across the entire UN Charter with focus on how the UN system can best engage together in order to support and deliver on sustainable development results.

The UNDG Chair, Ms. Helen Clark, opened the third UNDG meeting of the year by recognizing Ms. Flavia Pansieri who will be retiring from her position as Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights and Vice-Chair of the UNDG at the end of the year. The members of the UNDG joined the UNDG Chair in thanking Ms. Pansieri for her leadership and contributions within the UNDG and throughout her accomplished UN career.

The UNDG Chair, Ms. Helen Clark, opened the second UNDG meeting of the year by announcing that the Department of Political Affairs (DPA) had joined the UNDG as an observer, and welcoming Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs. The UNDG Chair expressed her appreciation for the ongoing support DPA had been providing to Resident Co-ordinators, including through their support peace and development advisers in RC offices.

HLCM: Harmonization of Vacancy Advertisements and Selection Process at Country Level 23.02.2017

The project responds to concerns raised by Delivering as One pilot countries on human resource management related to national staff.  Under the leadership of UNESCO, the project seeks to develop standarize vacancy annoncements, harmonized recruitment criteria and common selection tools and mechanisms.  It will contribute to streamline the sourcing and hiring process of staff locally and increase collaboration among UN agencies at the country level.  Uruguay and Vietnam have been selected as pilot countries.
